I grew up pretty athletic, daughter of a golf pro, I have played as long as I can remember. I took up snowboarding as an adult and grew to love it so much that I taught it for two seasons. Yoga was a happy accident, I hated gyms and kung fu was the closest thing to an indoor sport for me. I had always been curious about yoga and took a series of ashtanga classes, and loved the way I felt after each class. The air seemed a bit cleaner, my step a bit lighter, and a sense of peace that would at least last for my walk home. I practiced off and on for the past nine years. When I became pregnant with twins I became a consistent prenatal yoga practitioner. I had a wonderful pregnancy and was able to carry my twins to term and practice until my delivery. I then returned to mom and me yoga to discover my core again and found myself to be stronger than I was before having my babies. I am part of the first Roslindale-PYTT, graduating at the end of February and look forward to sharing my practice with others. There is a lousy saying that those who can't do, teach. In my experience, if you love to do, then you love to teach and bring that joy to others. In the boring 9-5 world I bounced between careers in architecture and teaching art, but really only found happiness in my job when it was to be mama to my twins. Misty Evans Misty has been practicing yoga for the past 10 years. At first, supplementing her regular exercise routine with yoga to find balance and strength in her workouts. Then, realizing the life changing benefits of her yoga practice, she chose the path of yoga as her primary physical activity. It exercised the body and also brought harmony and peace into her life in a way she had never experienced. Misty’s love and commitment to her practice eventually led her to enroll in the 2009 Roslindale Yoga Teacher Training. Misty graduated from the training March 2010 and was eager to put to practice the wealth of knowledge and training she received to help others along their journey of discovery in their yoga practice. Misty also loves spreading the sense of adventure, fun, and challenge in practicing yoga asanas. In addition to teaching and practicing yoga, Misty enjoys spending her time raising her daughter Chloe and guiding her through her first journeys in life. She is grateful to have the opportunity to teach and share what she has learned with her students. Randi Laufman

Randi's teacher training is specific to Prenatal Yoga (from Fitness Resources Association) and her classes for pregnant women are safe and nurturing for any stage of pregnancy. Her playful spirit and supportive approach helps guide women to a deeper understanding of their own bodies through yoga as they, too, experience their own sacred journey into motherhood. In addition to Prenatal Yoga, Randi also teaches classes for after the baby is born for both women and men (Baby and Me Yoga) as well as Partner Yoga, Kids Yoga, and Family Yoga classes.
