Special Pranayama Workshop
Sunday, August 8th 4:00 � 5:30
Pranayama is the incoming and outgoing flow of breath, which can be prolonged or restrained. Practice of this ancient discipline will improve the flow of energy in the body, lessen tension and calm the mind. This workshop will explore stages of several different types of pranayama: ujjayi (conqueror�s breath), viloma (against the hair), bhamari (bumble bee). The class will begin with an asana practice that includes poses to lengthen the spine and open the chest in preparation for pranayama. Instructor: Jean Stawarz

Tai Chi Chuan
In the Tai Chi Chuan System, the Solo Form is a series of physical bare hand movements to work to maneuver and fine tune the body. It is also said in the Tai chi Chuan Solo Form is for the body. The body is the control center of the four limbs movements. It is the key to unify all physical movement. Better coordination, execution of a powerful strike, flexibility, balance, improved vitality, improved physical endurance and mobility are some of the essential results of body utilization. In this class, the student will learn the Yang Style 124 form. The objective of this style is to stretch the bodys tendons, ligaments and develop the flexibility of all joints. Tai Chi Chuan Solo Form can be practiced by people of all ages.

To kids, we're fun, fun, fun! To Parents, we are the answer to helping your children stay physically fit and deal more effectively with the pressures of school and peers. We're all that and more...our proven curriculum and amazingly fun yoga program incorporates traditional Hatha yoga postures with imaginative yoga games and relaxation techniques. All told: children laugh, learn, exercise, breathe, and relax. Better yet, they leave our classes with big SMILES on their faces.....Let's all say OM to that!

In a safe and nurturing atmosphere, this six-week series will teach the beginning student the foundations of yoga. Starting with standing and seated poses, the body will also be prepared for inversions and mild backbends. Moving at each student's individual pace, a better understanding of body alignment and balance will be gained. Students will experience greater sensitivity and freedom in the body.

Reiki is not a religion, and you do not need to have any specific beliefs for Reiki to work.


Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, Japanese technique of hands-on natural healing. The term translates into "universal life energy". With a practitioner serving as a channel between the spiritual energy and the client's personal energy, Reiki seeks to balance the body, mind, emotions and spirit through the chakra system (a group of energy center's in the body).


Your Reiki I Attunement will consist of the history of reiki, full information on the Chakra system, and a guided meditation. After the information session, you will receive your attunement, which will be followed by a break for tea & light lunch, discussion, or time to relax. When we have regained our energy, we will come together to give and receive Reiki energy from eachother. We will end the session after everyone has had a chance to give and receive the healing of reiki.

Babies can be from 1 month to 1 year old and can come with a mother, father, nanny, other! Twins are also welcome!

This nurturing yoga class is specially designed to provide a supportive environment in which to enjoy bonding with and getting to know your growing baby. We will share beneficial yoga poses that are suitable for any level of previous yoga experience that incorporate strengthening postures for postnatal recovery with playful interaction with your infant. (C-section modifications can be offered if necessary.) Infant Massage and postures that reduce colic are taught. Nursing or bottle feeding during class is welcome.

A wonderful opportunity to meet other new parents as well.

Open Doors Power Yoga Teacher Training offered through Roslindale Yoga: 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Registered Program
This teacher training program is designed to give you the skills to teach many styles of yoga to diverse populations including Vinaysa, Hatha, and Restorative Yoga. Instructors will be be from both Open Doors Power Yoga Studios and from Roslindale Yoga Studio.
